The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychologist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.
Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse, which I am required by law to report.
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to any other person, I must take whatever action I deem necessary and appropriate to protect the potential victim(s).
- If, in my best clinical judgment, I believe a client poses an imminent risk of harm to self or others, I will make every effort to enlist the client's cooperation in insuring safety. If the client does not cooperate, I must take further measures, as provided by law, in order to ensure safety.
